Horses

Extensive research confirms that animals also need to consume omega-3. Most types of animal feed contain plenty of omega-6 fatty acids, but are poor in omega-3 fatty acids. Thus it is recommended to give fish oil supplements which contain omega-3 fatty acids to dry food.

Those who are actively engaged with horse sport will find that an omega-3 supplement in the horse's diet improves performance and prevents injuries and illnesses. Research has also proven that giving an omega-3 supplement to horses has improved breathing during exercise, relieves muscle pains, gives better focus, increased stamina and less inflammation.

Many horses suffering from various allergies and dry hooves will also see an improvement with intake of omega-3. By giving the horse omega-3, inflammation decreases, and therefore reduces muscle stiffness, joint problems, respiratory problems or hoof problems.

EPA and DHA fatty acids found in fish oil provide the beneficial health effects research indicates. Obersten Omega-3 is produced from fatty fish such as mackerel, herring and anchovies, which contains large amounts of EPA and DHA fatty acids.
